ABOUT

Josh Lane is one of the most highly demanded drummers/teachers in Toronto. He received his Bachelor of Music Degree from Humber College in 2009. At Humber, Josh had the privilege to study private drum lessons with some of the best players and teachers in the country. Over the past few years, Josh has had the opportunity to perform with many talented artists. In his last year at Humber College he had the pleasure of playing with Tenor Saxophone giant Chris Potter.

Some of Josh’s most exciting musical experience’s have been touring across Canada with Hip Hop band Northstar, performing throughout Asia with a Humber Alumni Jazz Quintet, playing on a Cruise Ship that sailed throughout the Mediterranean with the Trio Des Iles, performing during the Olympic Lighting of the Torch Ceremony, playing in the pit band for the musical production BARE, touring across North America multiple times with pop/rock singer Zameer, and playing a residency at the West Hollywood Soho House in Los Angeles, California. Recently Josh had the opportunity to play at Dundas Square with famous Pakistani rock band Noori.

Josh writes his own original compositions on piano and recorded his debut album in 2009. 
 
Josh has a strong passion for teaching music and passing on his knowledge to others. In May of 2008 he was part of the “Jazz in the Schools” program run by Humber College. The ensemble performed two clinics per day at schools across the GTA and helped educate children on the history of Jazz. Josh currently teaches private lessons to students of all ages and abilities in his private studio at Front/Sherbourne.
