LESSONS

Teaching Style/Philosophy:

I encourage my students to work hard and be the best musician they can be.

Lesson Focus:

During the first lesson I like to educate my students about my musical background and experience as a musician and then perform a short piece for them. We then discuss the students goals and objectives and help determine how they can reach those goals by creating a short term and long term goals sheet.

Lessons can vary greatly depending on the students interests and goals. I like to cater the lessons to what the students wants to learn while incoporating my own techniques into the equation. With some students we work on their favorite pop and rock songs and with others we work on mastering different musical styles, specific drum beats, fills, sight reading, drum soloing, odd time signatures etc. I have had many students come to me to prepare for auditions and entrance exams and they have all left confident and well prepared.

At my studio I give my student the choice to learn on an acoustic kit or an electronic kit.

Lessons are 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes in length. I usually recommend 45 minute or full hour lesssons if the student is 12 years of age or older.

Message for lesson rates.

Rates for in home lessons are slightly higher due to travel time/costs and are on a per student basis depending on location.
